EXPLORE LAKES ENTRANCE

Lakes Entrance is one of the most beautiful coastal towns of Eastern Victoria and loved for its unspoilt swimming beaches, waterfront cafes and fleet of colourful fishing boats, many of which sell the day’s catch from the jetties. Located 319 kilometres from Melbourne on the edge of the infamous Ninety Mile Beach is where the Gippsland Lakes meet the ocean.

The natural surroundings of Lakes Entrance and the Gippsland Lakes is an ideal environment for action and adventure. Juggling the number of activities, relaxing and good vibes take some serious planning so luckily we have put together all of the very best things to do in Lakes Entrance.

Watersports

Swimming beaches, surfing breaks, water skiing, paddle boarding, body boarding or snorkeling. Lake fishing, ocean fishing, boat fishing, surf fishing (any fishing!) and if you don’t happen to catch a feed, then Lakes Entrance has commercial fishing. Buy your fish and seafood direct from the fishing trawlers. You cannot get any fresher than that!

Family Fun

Have an icecream at the Riviera ice creamery, climb the lakeside playground and keep under par at one of the many mini golf courses. Learn about the wooden sculptures which lie alongside the Esplanade Walking Track and challenge the family to a paddle boat race.

Join a paddle board, kayak or mountain bike tour or spend time splashing around in newly opened Lakes Entrance Aqua Park, a must visit for Summer. You see so much more when you're on foot. Lakes Entrance has got some beautiful walking tracks. Book a Segway tour and ride a Segway along the Beach or through the Bush. Go explore the Buchan Caves. Near the township of Buchan, lies a honeycomb of caves full of spectacular limestone formations.

Kick back to some local musos and cocktails at The Servo Lakes Entrance! Opposite the footbridge in the heart of town. Try their famous authentic Mexican tacos, perfect for sharing with friends or family, you can even bring the dog.
